Book the option for your area: if you did not, you pay at the harbour.

How far the resorts are
The boats leave from Hurghada. El Gouna is 25 km north of Hurghada Marina in a straight line, Sahl Hasheesh 20 km south and Makadi Bay 27 km south; Safaga and Soma Bay are further south still. That is why the pickup costs more and comes earlier.

Option prices a person on GetYourGuide, read on 27 November 2026, 20 January and 10 March 2027 (checked November 2026). On 20 January two adults on Go Shalabi’s speedboat trip paid US$50.16 each from Makadi Bay, El Gouna or Sahl Hasheesh and US$55.73 each from Safaga. Royal Cruise Hurghada's option for Makadi, Soma Bay, El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh and Safaga was not on sale on 27 November; its itinerary also names Sahl Hasheesh as a pickup area of the standard option, so ask which applies to your hotel.
Miniature Egypt Hurghada's Orange Island cruise collects from Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi Bay, Soma Bay and El Gouna when you choose that option. Some operators add the charge in euros: Aqua Red Reef EUR 5 a person from Makadi Bay or Sahl Hasheesh and EUR 10 from El Gouna, Soma Bay or Safaga, and Sea Star Hurghada EUR 5 from Makadi or Sahl Hasheesh and EUR 10 from El Gouna or Soma Bay.

If you did not book the transfer
On Go Shalabi’s trips it is put bluntly: “Didn’t book long-distance pickup? Pay at the harbor.” Zanetta Tours charges its extra zone fee on every booking from Makadi, Sahl Hasheesh, El Gouna, Soma Bay and Safaga, whichever option you chose, payable at checkout or in cash. Book the right option and the price on the calendar is the price you pay for the ride.
The pickup itself
On Go Shalabi’s trips the pickup time arrives by email or WhatsApp at 10:00 PM the night before. The window is up to 60 minutes either side from Hurghada hotels and up to 90 minutes from Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh, El Gouna, Soma Bay and Safaga. Wait at your hotel’s main entrance by the road, not at reception: the bus waits five minutes. A reviewer staying in Makadi Bay, writing on 30 October 2026, was picked up at 7:15 AM and back at the hotel at 5 PM.
Zanetta Tours sends its pickup time at 8:00 PM the day before and asks you to be ready five minutes early, with a photo of the car and the meeting point by 10:00 PM.
