Which Hurghada Island Trip?

The islands the Hurghada boat trips visit, Giftun and Orange Bay, Magawish, Abu Minqar and the White Island sandbank, which trips stop where, and which one to pick.

Updated November 2026

The boat trips from Hurghada visit a handful of islands: the two Giftun islands with the beach at Orange Bay, Magawish, Juzur Abu Minqar and a white sandbank. Most days take in one or two of them. If you want to see as many as you can, Go Shalabi’s Hurghada: 6 Islands Speedboat, Dolphin watching & Snorkeling, from US$45 a person (checked November 2026; the option list started at US$55.73 on the dates we read), stops at all of them in 8 hours, with three snorkelling stops. Lunch is an add-on.

The islands, one by one

Giftun el Kebir and Giftun el Saghir. The two islands east of Hurghada; the large one’s nearest shore is 5.5 km from Hurghada Marina in a straight line. Nearly every trip snorkels on a reef off Giftun, and several look for dolphins there.

Orange Bay. A beach on the Giftun islands, with 1 to 2 hours ashore depending on the trip. Giftun Island and Orange Bay covers it in detail.

Magawish Island. On Go Shalabi's three-island day you spend an hour there with the second snorkelling stop; the six-island day stops at Big Magawish for an hour, swims at Small Magawish and makes a 30-minute snorkelling stop at Magawish.

Juzur Abu Minqar. Half an hour ashore on Go Shalabi's speedboat trip and its six-island day.

The White Island sandbank. A sandbank the six-island day stops at for 30 minutes, with its entrance fee included. Sea Star Hurghada's three-island option visits Orange, Magawish and White Island.

Hula Hula. Zanetta Tours' Orange Bay day names Orange Bay or Hula Hula Island in its description; its itinerary shows Orange Bay.

The six-island day covers the most ground by speedboat, with a shaded area on board and soft drinks and fruit; lunch on an island costs extra, and lunch and drinks are available on all the islands except Nemo and Monqar. The three-island day goes by yacht, with breakfast and a seafood lunch served on board and a shaded seating area.
